Gotrax R1 20inch Folding Electric Bike
Impressive and powerful electric bike with so many things done right!
I was surprised how big and sturdy the packaging box was but I was soon impressed even more when I opened the box. All the key components and frames of the bike was covered with a protective foam and held tight with one another using thick zip ties so they don't move around or scratch each other. There is no chance of this bike getting damaged or even a single scratch during shipping due to the impeccable packaging job inside the box. It took some time for me to cut and remove all the zip ties as well as protective foams
After removing the bike from the box, I just had to put the front wheel in place with mud guard, install the pedals, and seat saddle. I love the folding bike pedal design, which also save some storage space as well as allow it to be lay it flat on its side. Before you get too excited to ride the bike, I would recommend that 1) check the tire pressure and make sure to add some air to max PSI, which is written on the tires, and 2) the battery is fully charged before very first use.
WHAT I LIKE:
> 350W brushless motor with 48V 7.8Ah battery allows around 40 miles range using pedal assist mode, and around 15 miles range on 100% electric mode without pedaling with 20 MPH top speed, which is perfect as 20 MPH is the regulation limit on electric bike in my town and state.
> The bike looks sharp and feel sturdy. Not only the bike and the handle bar can be folded, the handle bar and seat saddle can be adjusted in various height without any tools. The battery can be locked with provided key or removed to be charged inside the house. The battery is probably the most expensive component for this bike so it's nice that it can be protected.
> You can get lazy and enjoy the ride using pure electric throttle or ride it like a normal bike to get some exercise, or use the Pedal Assist Mode to get electric help when you pedal!
> Dual disc brakes with break on each handle bar, bright front headlight as well as lighted break light on the back provides safety feature during the day and at night. Love the large LCD screen with various information such as speed, distance, battery level, etc and LCD screen lights up when the front headlight is turned on.
> Mud guards, rear carrying rack, various reflectors, and the foldable pedals are great!
> Packaging was simply amazing (maybe they over did it but better safe than sorry) and the price is very good compared to other similar electric bikes.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE / NICE TO HAVE:
> Electric horn would have been nice but this is not a big deal as it has a regular bike bell.
BOTTOM LINE:
I would give a perfect 5 stars for this impressive and sporty electric bike that I can take with me in my car to any trip or local park. Very well constructed and the ride is very smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for portable electric bike and I can see this would also make a great bike for those who make food deliveries around the city or local town.
