AUTO-VOX Solar Wireless Backup Camera
best thing I ever purchased for my 2005 Honda Pilot!
I own 2005 Honda Pilot and it's a very big SUV without a backup camera.
I considered buying a DIY backup camera but I just didn't want to mess with opening up the car and wiring etc because I'm not too good with cars or even electrical wires.
When I saw this solar wireless backup camera, I didn't even think twice and bought it immediately because this does not require any wiring as the camera is powered by rechargeable battery, which is recharged by solar panel! Brilliant design!
The camera and the solar panel basically are already mounted on a bracket, which fits the standard license plate perfectly. All you have to do is remove your license plate then slide it in the bracket between the camera and solar panel then screw in the license plate back on the car!
The 5 inch HD LCD screen is powered by cigarette lighter so you just have to plug it in and it will connect to the camera automatically. The LCD screen is very clear and it has few settings and options you can change on the screen using the buttons on the side.
That's it! It's that simple. I just couldn't believe it and now I have HD quality backup camera on my old 2005 Honda Pilot!
Whenever I start my car engine, the backup camera and LCD screen automatically turns on and stays on for 90 seconds. If I need to see the backup camera again, I just have to hit the big button on top of the cigarette lighter adapter and it will turn on and stay on for another 90 seconds, before turning off automatically.
I did buy a cigarette lighter socket splitter because I actually need to plug in another cigarette lighter adapter for charging my smartphone. Also, the camera is very close to the hatch door opener so it's kind of in the way whenever I need to open the trunk hatch door but this is not that big of a deal in exchange to a backup camera that I always wanted for my Pilot.
Easily 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't have a backup camera for their cars because it will just take 5 minutes to install this without any wiring or opening up the car. I'm very happy with it.
