Mini PC Windows 11 Intel Celeron N5105
Next generation of Mini PC at smaller scale without losing performance
I have a Mini PC already in our family room and I love it compared to old desktops because they take up very little space and works just as well compared to desktops. I got this Mini PC for my son who will be going off to college next month and I could not believe how much smaller this is compared to my other Mini PC. They really managed to bring the size down but still included all the ports and specs to keep up with the bigger Mini PCs. This is one impressive Mini PC and they should really call it Tiny PC or Micro PC because it's significantly smaller than other Mini PCs.
WHAT I LIKE:
[+] Size - This is so compact that it can fit inside a jacket pocket. The size and weight makes it ultra portable and enables my son to carry this in his backpack along with portable monitor.
[+] Windows 11 + 8GB RAM - Not only this came preinstalled with latest Windows 11 but it's loaded with 8GB of RAM, which is the ideal allocation to run Windows smoothly and fast! Also, having 256GB of SSD storage helps with performance.
[+] Type-C power source - I love that this is powered by Type-C port rather than DC port since Type-C cables are more standard and universal.
[+] 2 HDMI ports with 4K UHD support for dual screen support. It can supposedly support triple display using the 2 HDMI ports and Type-C port but I haven't tried this yet since I need to use Type-C port to power this Mini PC. I suppose this is possible when used with Type-C hub but my son is perfectly fine with just 1 screen but I did confirm that it can be connected to dual screens.
[+] 3 USB-A 3.0 ports - 2 of them are on the front side for easy access and 1 is on the back.
[+] Audio jack and Ethernet port - while it can connect to external USB speaker, it's nice to have 3.5mm audio jack so my son can plug in his wired earbuds to it to hear the sound privately. It also has a built-in WiFi but having ethernet port allows him to connected by ethernet cable, if needed.
[+] Memory card reader - It has a memory card reader on the side, which is a nice touch.
[+] Heat dispersion - it has air vents on 3 sides so that it doesn't get too hot inside.
[+] Lock latch - since this PC is so tiny, it can easily be targeted for theft so this can be locked up by using typical laptop chain lock using this lock latch.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
[-] It would have been great if it included 1 or 2 USB-A 2.0 ports because most wireless mouse and keyboards that uses USB receiver works better with USB 2.0 protocol but this is not a deal breaker as I can buy a USB hub that includes both USB 3.0 as well as USB 2.0 ports.
BOTTOM LINE:
Easily 5 out of 5 stars. This is by far the smallest Mini PC I've seen so far and I can't wait to see how much smaller it can get in the future but this is more than small enough for my son to easily pack it to college and also carry it around paired with his portable monitor. He also bought a foldable Bluetooth keyboard and a small mouse, which works great with this Mini PC via Bluetooth connectivity. Simply amazing and very impressive. Highly recommend it!
