Even when using the HDMI port to connect to a laptop, you don't necessarily have to connect to a separate power source due to the built-in rechargeable battery. This is a huge advantage of this portable monitor over others! This feature allows you to use this monitor to play console games anywhere or share your pictures or videos on your phone to bigger screen more easily without having to worry about plugging this monitor to AC or USB power. Very well designed indeed.
